Case Study
85 Great Eastern Street, London

Overview
Coda Workspace needed a home that reflected the studio's creative energy and collaborative spirit. Based in the heart of Shoreditch, 85 Great Eastern Street became the canvas for our own transformation.
Crittall-Style Glazing
Full-height glass partitions connect the boardroom visually to the social breakout whilst maintaining acoustic privacy.
Warm Hospitality Finishes
Deeper, darker colours with warm lighting and soft fabric seating give the space a welcoming, residential feel.
The Challenge
Coda Workspace had no real room to collaborate, grow the team or innovate effectively for clients. The previous space was functional and light but lacked the character and spirit to energise a growing business or engage new and existing team members.
Copper Pendant Lighting
Statement copper globe pendants add warmth and a hospitality-inspired touch above the social bar area.
Exposed Ceiling In Brand Green
Beautiful shapes and texture exposed from the M&E and trusses
The Solution
A workshop-led process identified the team's key activities, styles of working, future aspirations and cultural characteristics. That shared knowledge informed the layout, space types and aesthetic to support the business, help the team thrive and weave wellbeing and sustainability through the design story.
Deep Green Backdrop
The deep green tone acts as the perfect backdrop for client presentations, adding depth and warmth to the boardroom.
Acoustic Ceiling
A juxtaposition to the raw open plan, the dropped ceiling improves acoustics whilst bringing elegant simplicity to the space.

The Result
A cohesive, impactful workspace that puts community and culture at the heart. This space feels warm, wholesome and people centric. The social space is immediately at entry, putting the focus on connection for colleagues and visitors alike. Natural light is unobstructed from one side of the space to the other, seamlessly aligning with two incredible terraces, connecting to the vibrancy of Shoreditch.
Central Client Table
Positioned in the heart of the open plan so clients can interact with samples and materials alongside the team actually designing.
Exposed Breeze Block
Raw building features were celebrated rather than hidden, embracing the industrial character of the Shoreditch building.
The Experience
A collaborative team journey that redefined the workspace for culture, innovation and growth. This experience focussed the team, aligning personal, business and future goals.
“One of our favourite memories is visiting the floor and marking out where our office is going to be, where the meeting room will be, where our breakout area should be, and how the space is going to work for our team.”
